Scrivener 2.0 To Be Released November 1st

If you are a writer of any long form text, you might want to take a look at Scrivener. It's one of the best known Mac writting tools for authors of books, screenplays and more. It's an application that takes a very unique approach to writing, that should be very famillar to anyone that has used 3x5 notecards and the like to put notes together before beginning a long prose. The original Scrivener has been out for a very long time, but the much anticipated release of Scrivener 2.0 is just around the corner. Even more impressive a Windows version will also be released, the 1st on Windows. The folks at Scrivener have posted some videos of both the Mac version and the Windows version showing the basics.

Really, if you enjoy writing or have to write long prose this software could be for you. If what you write requires lots of research and notes then this software is for you. If you don't alway write your prose in a linear fashion, in other words you write the 3rd chapter before the 1st chapter, then this software may be for you. Best yet, it's only $45. As polished as this software is, that's a great price. [ad#468x60 Banner]

Full disclosure, I've purchased a license for my wife; but haven't really had a chance to write a long document or paper with it. I did play around with it sometime ago and what came to mind is how useful it would have been 20 years ago when I was in college. I wrote many papers with lots of notes, plus some creative writing as well. There are more fully featured word processors, but none for this price that do what Scrivener does so well. It's not just me that thinks so either, check out their website for all the fantastic reviews that have been posted since the original release.

You can download a demo for free! You will find a link to the download on the Scrivener home page.
