Ever want to remove one of your menu items? It's easier than you think.Typically to remove a menu item you have to go to that applications preferences or the system preferences and then "de-select" that option. A faster and easier way is to use the COMMAND key.
Remove Menu Icon: To remove the icon, press the COMMAND key and then drag the icon off of the menu bar. Not all menu icons will honor the command, but most will. Unfortunately, adding the icon back isn't as easy - but then it isn't very hard either.
For most menu icons, to add it back you need only either go through the System Preferences Pane the Menu item is responsible for, or open up the application that is controlling the Menu icon. Typically you will find a simple check box that allows you to enable or disable the Menu icon.
